Join our SWEET Team! Do you want to be a kid in a candy store every day at work? Then this is the job for you!

River Street Sweets is adding to the family at our King Street, Charleston location! If you have a winning attitude and like making people smile – we are the team for you! We are looking for team members that want to work in a positive environment with a successful company culture! Flexible schedule with day, night, weekday, and weekend options.

In this position, you have the opportunity to make a competitive $16 hourly rate plus great tips. Tips are not guaranteed and are given at the sole discretion of our guests and distributed weekly among all team members based on hours worked that week.

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Review and implement the guidelines provided in the Employee handbook and Operations Manual
  • Welcoming and engaging with customers as they enter the store
  • Assessing customers’ needs and suggesting solutions accordingly
  • Working with cash registers and processing payments
  • Making candy per given instructions, recipes, and processes
  • Setting and attaining sales goals for the store
  • Giving customers advice about sales and promotions, upselling to increase sales
  • Recommending the best products to customers
  • Cleaning and restocking the store throughout the day, before opening and after closing
  • Ability to lift heavy merchandise, walk and stand for long hours

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be able to use touch-sensitive POS System
  • Able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to take direction and deliver on responsibilities for effective and efficient operations
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment with a learning and growth mindset

Job counts include both employed and self-employed persons, and do not distinguish between full- and part-time jobs. Sources include Emsi industry data, staffing patterns, and OES data.
