What we need:

Natco is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Pricing and Cost Specialist to join our Sales and Product Development Team. This hybrid position is based at our corporate headquarters in West Warwick, RI. Reporting to the VP of Sales and Product Development, the Pricing and Cost Specialist is responsible for preparing and analyzing financial and operational data to establish standard costs, evaluate pricing strategies, and identify cost variances. This role will work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop accurate pricing models, maintain cost sheets, and create tools to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.

What you’ll do:

  • Analyze historical and current financial data to support inventory costing and pricing decisions
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as sales and logistics as well as external partners and suppliers to gather and validate pricing inputs
  • Coordinate with the Logistics team to obtain and incorporate unique freight and trucking rates into pricing models
  • Establish and maintain standard costs, supplier quote sheets, and customer specific cost information
  • Collect and analyze operational data to support pricing decisions and cost evaluations
  • Develop market-based cost and pricing tools for use by the sales team
  • Monitor and interpret industry-specific business trends to inform pricing strategies
  • Prepare detailed reports and financial projections based upon data analysis
  • Improve financial performance by identifying variances, analyzing results, and recommending improvements to management
  • Increase efficiency by developing automated Excel tools and coordinating data requirements
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and sensitive business data
  • Perform all other duties as directed by the VP of Sales and Product Development

What you’ll have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, or finance is preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will also be considered
  • 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis and product pricing preferred
  • Strong background in data analytics and reporting

What you’re good at:

  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally across all levels of the organization as well as with external partners and suppliers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with integrated accounting systems is a plus
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, with the ability to work well independently
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Math and analytical skills with high degree of accuracy
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally
  • Proactive and able to anticipate and respond to business needs
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work well under pressure, and meet deadlines
