About the team:

About the role: (TE)

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Analyst who combines strong analytical capabilities with deep financial domain expertise and business intelligence proficiency. This role will drive the translation of complex business needs into data-driven insights and solutions, ensuring alignment with financial objectives while maintaining robust data governance and quality. The ideal candidate will act as the primary bridge between finance stakeholders and technical teams, delivering impactful analysis through modern data platforms and BI tools.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements Gathering & Stakeholder Engagement

• Elicit, document, and validate business requirements from finance stakeholders, including FP&A, Accounting, and Treasury teams

• Facilitate workshops and working sessions to gather functional requirements and translate them into clear, actionable specifications

• Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain regular communication on project progress, risks, and changes

• Produce Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Specifications, and process flow diagrams

Data & Analytical Delivery

• Translate business requirements into technical designs and scalable data and reporting solutions

• Provide architectural guidance on data models and enhancements within Azure Analysis Services (AAS) in collaboration with engineering teams

• Good hands on knowledge on interactive Power BI dashboards and reports delivering actionable financial insights.

• Work extensively with SQL Server and Databricks for data extraction, transformation, and performance optimizations

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and unit testing to ensure high data quality and accuracy

• Support and lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) cycles, coordinating with business users to obtain sign-off

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

• Conduct gap analysis between current-state processes and desired future-state outcomes

• Map and document As-Is and To-Be business processes, identifying opportunities for efficiency and automation

• Analyse financial data trends, KPIs, and performance metrics to surface insights for decision-making

• Support change management activities including training, user guides, and communications for system/process rollouts

Data Operations & Governance

• Execute and ensure compliance with data governance and control frameworks (CARM) for responsible data products

• Oversee monthly data extraction, transformation, and loading processes (e.g., BFC to reporting systems)

• Maintain comprehensive documentation for BAU operations and support, ensuring other teams keep documentation up to date

• Monitor data quality, identify anomalies, and work with technical teams to resolve data issues promptly

Required Skills & Expertise

Core Business Analysis Skills

• Proven experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and stakeholder management

• Strong ability to produce high-quality artefacts: BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, and process maps

• Proficiency in Business Process Modelling (BPMN) and workflow documentation

• Experience in gap analysis, impact assessment, and feasibility studies

• Solid understanding of Agile and Waterfall project methodologies; experience working in Agile/Scrum teams

• Ability to facilitate workshops, interviews, and focus groups with senior business stakeholders

Technical Skills

• Strong expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report development, performance tuning)

• Hands-on experience with SQL Server & Databricks (T-SQL, query optimisation, ETL processes)

• Experience with Azure Analysis Services (AAS) / Tabular Models

• Experience in data validation, testing methodologies, and UAT coordination

• Familiarity with data pipeline and ETL processes at a functional level

Soft Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong analytical thinking, critical reasoning, and structured problem-solving ability

• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams

• Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude and ability to work independently

• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and working in fast-paced, change-heavy environments

Nice to Have

• Understanding of financial reporting, planning, and analysis (FP&A) processes

• Knowledge of financial data structures, general ledger concepts, and chart of accounts

• Familiarity with financial consolidation and reporting systems (e.g., BFC or similar)

• Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure ecosystem)

• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and access control management

• Experience with Azure Devops, JIRA or similar project management and documentation tools
