Federal Work-Study in Spanish Language Program

Work-Study Positions to Support Machine Translation Project

 

• Hours per week: 10-20 (flexible schedule)
• Pay rate: $15 per hour

 

The Spanish Language Program at SUNY Empire is seeking students interested in gaining work experience with machine translation and web publishing technologies. The selected students will assist the program in translating web pages, forms, and other documents from English to Spanish. They will use machine translation software, be able to work remotely, and collaborate with professional proofreaders. These work-study positions will report to the Director of Spanish Language Programs.

 

Required Qualifications:

– Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills

– Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines

– Demonstrated interest in working with digital technology

– Ability to work collaboratively with others

 

Preferred Qualifications:

– Bilingualism or proficiency in Spanish

– Some experience with web publishing software
