General Agency & Personnel Biography

The Department of Agriculture and Markets’ (AGM) mission is to promote New York State agriculture and its high-quality and diverse products, foster agricultural environmental stewardship, and safeguard the state’s food supply, land, and livestock to ensure the viability and growth of New York’s agriculture industries.

As part of the Human Resources Specialist role, Amy and Marisa work closely with recruitment and staffing, position classification, examination planning, attendance and leave, employee performance, employee onboarding and offboarding, drafting written communications, gathering, and analyzing data and preparing reports, and conferring with program directors, supervisors, and employees to identify and resolve issues and concerns.

Biography for Marisa Weston

Marisa Weston is a Human Resources Specialist 1 supporting Agricultural Development, Emergency Management, The Executive Office, Food Safety & Inspection, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and the Public Information Office.  Marisa has been a Human Resources professional for over 15 years in the Manufacturing, Health Care, and Financial Services industries in both unionized and non-unionized settings. Marisa received her Bachelor of Arts from Siena College.  She is excited to bring her Human Resources experience to public service!

Biography for Amy Sacco, ’18

Amy Sacco, ’18, is a Human Resources Specialist 2 with the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets, and is the Human Resources Liaison supporting Agricultural Development, Emergency Management, The Executive Office, Food Safety & Inspection, Human Resources, Internal Audit, and the Public Information Office. Amy has a Bachelor’s Degree in United States History and a Master’s in Learning and Emerging Technologies. Amy enjoys human resources as it allows her the opportunity to provide guidance, support, and be a resource for people within the Agency. Amy hopes to inspire current and graduating students and to lead them to future success as they forge the path to their full time career!
